Description
Slow Cooker Baked Apples are a warm, spiced, and comforting dessert that’s easy to make with just a few simple ingredients. Perfectly tender apples are filled with a delicious cinnamon-sugar mixture, then slow-cooked to perfection.
Ingredients
- 4–6 medium apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji)
- ½ cup brown sugar (or maple syrup for a natural sweetener)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon cloves (optional)
- ¼ cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
- ¼ cup raisins or dried cranberries (optional)
- 2 tablespoons butter or coconut oil, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup water, apple cider, or orange juice
Instructions
Prepare the Apples
- Wash and core the apples, leaving the bottom intact so the filling stays inside.
- Optionally, peel the apples if you prefer a softer texture.
- Lightly squeeze lemon juice over the apples to prevent browning.
2️⃣ Make the Filling
- In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, nuts, and dried fruit.
- Stir in melted butter and vanilla extract until combined.
3️⃣ Fill the Apples
- Stuff each apple with the filling, pressing it down gently so it stays inside.
4️⃣ Slow Cook the Apples
- Pour ½ cup of liquid (water, apple cider, or orange juice) into the slow cooker.
- Arrange apples in the slow cooker, standing upright.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 3-4 hours or HIGH for 1.5-2 hours, until apples are tender but not mushy.
5️⃣ Serve & Enjoy
- Carefully remove the apples and place them on a serving dish.
- Drizzle with extra maple syrup, caramel, or honey if desired.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, Greek yogurt, or granola.
